Water sports in the Seychelles

Water sports in the Seychelles!

If you’re a bit of an adrenaline junkie and would like try some water sports in the Seychelles, then you’ll be happy to know there is plenty on offer - although it should be noted that fishing and water-skiing are forbidden in the St Anne Marine National Park.

BEACH WATER SPORTS

The Beau Vallon Beach on Mahé is the main tourist beach and has all your normal water activities including banana boat rides, parasailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing and water-skiing.

GLASS BOTTOM BOATS

If you want to observe underwater life but don’t like the idea of getting underwater yourself, you can take a glass bottom boat to Port Launay and Baie Ternay National Marine Park which is on the remote western side of Mahé and again has an excellent range of marine life.  Just ask us if you are interested in a trip and we can organise it for you.

SNORKELING AND SCUBA DIVING

If you prefer to explore the underwater world a bit closer, then we recommend snorkelling off the beaches of Cerf Island, or speak to us if you want to go scuba diving in the Seychelles.   The range of marine life is extremely diverse and you can see a huge variety of reef fish, nudibranch, rays, star fish and octopus to name just a few.   There are plenty of dive sites around the islands and we can arrange a one day diving experience (minimum of three people) with a recommended third party.  This includes all your equipment, refreshments, and a BBQ lunch. When you book your holiday with us, just select the diving add-on and we will organise the rest.

FISHING CHARTERS

We also offer an exciting deep sea fishing charter as an excursion with a recommended third party.  A professional fishing crew (captain and deckhand) operate the boat which can take up to six people.   Lunch and drinks are served on the boat and are included in the price. Select the Deep Sea Fishing Trip add-on when you book - a truly memorable experience.

If you’re after something a little more peaceful where you can get up close to nature, then you should definitely try kayaking.  If you are staying with us at South Point Villas, you can take our kayaks out free of charge and explore the local area. This makes kayaking one of the activities on Cerf Island that all our guests fall in love with!  This is the perfect way to get away from it all and explore secluded local beaches for yourself. You might just get joined by turtles, rays and many other types of marine life en route!Water sports in the Seychelles
